Things to do - general

Sapa is popular for its beautiful mountains and romantic views. Travelers can travel the wonderful natural sites such as Ham Long Mountain, Silver Waterfall, Rattan Bridge and Bamboo Forest. Sapa is also well-known as the start of the mountain-climbing journey to the top of Fansipan mountain, the highest mountain in Vietnam.

Sapa has a spectacular view, ranging from beautiful plunging valley of cascading rice terraces, to mountains towering above on all sides. Sapa is most beautiful in spring, with apricot, plum and cherry flowers blossoming.

Sapa is a fascinating destination, especially when local ethnic hill-tribe people fill the town with colour. Sapa is rich in its cultures of the ethnic tribal people such as the H’mong, the Dzao, the Tay... The tribal people are very canny traders, urging you to buy handicrafts and trinkets. Many have had little formal education, yet all the youngsters have a good command of English, French and a handful of other languages. Visiting Sapa will offer an excellent opportunity for visitors to explore the unique custom of the local residents in Vietnam.
